Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma Stainless Espresso Maker

I've always really liked Breville espresso machines, and the Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma Stainless Espresso Maker doesn't disappoint! Priced at $299, this is a very solid machine for home use, and it looks very nice as well!

If you're looking for a no-frills machine that gets the job done and produces high-quality shots of espresso, then this machine may be exactly what you were looking for.

Let's Look At The Machine

This stainless steel espresso maker has 15 bars of pressure and uses a thermoblock pump. It has a slightly larger than average water tank that holds over a quart of water so that you never have to worry about running out while making a shot of espresso.

It comes with a removable drip tray and also a removable grid that makes cleaning a real breeze. It even comes with a stainless steel espresso cup set as well as a little frothing jug that helps with your frothing. This isn't a big deal but it's a nice little bonus.

The Cafe Roma has something that the folks at Breville call a dual wall filter system. I'm not sure exactly why, but it's supposed to make excellent crema. If you drink straight shots of espresso like me, you'll really appreciate that feature! If you mostly mix your espresso into drinks like cappuccinos, you won't notice it as much.

Speaking of cappuccinos, it also comes with a standard steam frother wand so that you'll be able to make your favorite cappuccinos, or latte's, or mocha drinks, really just about anything you like!

One thing I'd like to really point out is that this is a thoroughly stainless steel looking machine. If you're not into that industrial look, you might want to find a different machine!

What Other People Are Saying

This is a very well reviewed the espresso machine. Sometimes it's hard to find reviews especially for more expensive machines, but I didn't have that problem this time! The Cafe Roma has 178 reviews at Amazon. The average review was well over 4 out of 5 stars, which is just about as high as you can expect.

78 people gave it a five star review, 46 people gave it a four star review, 13 people gave it a three-star review, and 20 people gave it either a two star or a one star review.

The people who gave it poor reviews tended to have problems with the machine within the first year or so of use. Luckily Breville offers a year-long warranty, so that if you do have problems within the first year, you shouldn't have any trouble getting a replacement.

What's The Bottom Line

I've always liked Breville espresso machines, and so whenever they come out with something I'm always inclined to give it a hearty recommendation. After taking some time and looking into this Breville ESP8XL Cafe Roma Stainless Espresso Maker, I feel very happy recommending it to everybody who's interested. It's a very solid machine for less than $300.
