Cuisinart EM-200 Espresso Maker

Not a lot of people think about Cuisinart when they think about espresso machines. I'll be honest with you, until recently I didn't either! After all, they make toaster ovens and other small appliances like that; hardly distinguished espresso territory! But I've changed my tune. Take a look at the Cuisinart EM-200 Espresso Maker and I think you'll be pretty amazed.

Interestingly enough, this is a manual machine in the traditional sense, but it is also programmable - making it feel a little bit like an automatic machine. You still have to deal with coffee grounds manually though, which is the big difference between the two types.

The EM-100 is now probably my favorite entry level manual machine (check out it's review below - $120!). The EM-200 is an even nicer machine, but it costs a little bit more than the EM-100, but not much! It retails for $360 but we've got it below for just $192 - a real steal!

Let's Talk About The EM-200 Machine Itself

Cuisinart EM-200 Espresso MakerThis has a traditional 15-bars of pressure as you would expect. What you probably wouldn't expect is that you can use either coffee grounds OR pods. That's not something you usually see in this inexpensive of machine.

It has a sixty-four ounce water tank that is removable for easy filling and easy cleaning. The tank even has a little handle that retracts in and out, making it even easier to fill the tank with water from time to time.

The machine comes with a standard steam frother so that you can easily make your favorite cappuccinos, latte's, or mocha drinks.

And as I mentioned earlier, the EM-200 is fully programmable so that you can brew either a single shot of espresso or a double shot.

This is a very shiny, stainless steel espresso maker that looks very distinguished. Even the buttons on the front of the machine look nice, and are back lit with a blue light. You'll enjoy showing this machine off to your friends.

What Other People Are Saying About The EM-200

Out of seventy-nine reviews at Amazon, twenty-seven gave 5-star reviews, twenty gave 4-star reviews, five gave 3-star reviews, nine gave 2-star reviews, and eighteen gave 1-star reviews. That's an average of around three and a half stars.

I'm a little surprised to see 18 out of 79 1-star reviews. The people who gave poor reviews almost all had problems with the machine right out of the box. Maybe Cuisinart has some manufacturing glitches to work out on this new model. Fortunately it comes with a 3-year limited warranty, so you really don't have to worry if your's is bad right out of the box.

What's The Bottom Line?

The more and more I look into Cuisinart for Espresso Machines, the happier I become. They're a solid company with a strong and long background that you can count on. What's more, they've been churning out some really nice machines at incredibly low prices compared to similar models on the market.

To get a machine that does what the EM-200 does from another company I would expect to pay around $450...not the $192 that this machine costs.

So if you're looking for a nice manual machine with lots of extra features but don't want to spend an arm and a leg, I very heartily suggest you try the Cuisinart EM-200 Espresso Maker today. At $192 (see link below) you almost can't afford NOT to try it!
