Tassimo Hot Beverage System

I'll admit it right off the bat, I think those Tassimo Hot Beverage System (or brewbot as they are called) commercials on tv are pretty cool. They made me want to run out and buy one of these things even though I really prefer my regular espresso machine, just to see what the deal was!

If you're looking for an easy to use single cup coffee/espresso system then you have many different options. These pod/capsule/cup/disc powered machines are becoming more and more popular each day. Is the Tassimo Hot Beverage System the single cup machine that's right for you? Let's find out.

Let's Take A Look At The Machine

Tassimo Hot Beverage SystemThe Tassimo is a multipurpose machine; it makes coffee, tea, cappuccino, latte, espresso, and hot chocolate (just to name a few).

Making each drink couldn't be easier. In fact, you don't have to do anything at all! The machine has something called "smart bar code" technology. It scans the coffee pod to see what kind of drink you're making then adjusts itself (changes the temperature, amount and pressure of the water, brewing time etc) in order to make the drink perfectly.

I think that the ease of use is really one of the main reasons why people like these types of machines so much.

The machine also comes with a Mavea water filter. These are top of the line advanced filters that work much better than some on the market. It also has a fifty-one ounce water tank which is a pretty good sized tank compared to other machines on the market. That means you won't have to worry about refilling it all the time, which is nice.

How Long Does It Take To Make A Drink?

It generally takes the Tassimo about a minute to make a drink. That's pretty much standard across the industry, no matter which brand of single-cup machine you buy.

Another interesting feature is the ability to disrupt the automatic brewing time. This allows you to adjust the strength of your drink to suit your exact needs. Most people will just push the button and wait for the machine to automatically do it's thing; but if you want a little more control to tailor the machine to your exact needs, you have that option. You don't see that in every single-cup machine out there and it really makes the Tassimo a little better than some of the rest.

The Tassimo runs on T-Discs (bet you can't guess what the "T" stands for!). These are just Bosch's (the makers of Tassimo) version of the coffee pod. Unlike some single-cup machines, you can find T-discs in a huge variety of flavors because Bosch has partnered up with companies like Starbucks and Gevalia and allows them to produce T-discs with their own coffee. So if you have a favorite flavor of Starbucks, you can probably find it in T-disc form.

That's a huge huge benefit and one of the reasons why I recommend the Tassimo machines!

What Other People Are Saying

There really isn't much out there by way of customer reviews for this particular model. I'm looking at the black model and there are 4 reviews. The white model has thirty reviews. Fourteen are 5-star, thirteen are 4-star, and three are 3-star. Those are decent numbers.

Based on those reviews, having read through them all, there's really not all that much to say. People who like this machine really seem to like it, and there aren't any reviews that are negative to draw any insight from.

What's The Bottom Line?

When it comes to these types of single-cup machines, you definitely have a wide range of choices. Tassimo seems to dominate the lower end of the price range. This particular model retails for $129 but you can find it at the link below for just $90. That's well over half as expensive as some of it's competitors models.

But even though it has such a lower price, there's no real negative reviews. That makes me think that the Tassimo Hot Beverage System is a real bargain in the single-cup world. If you're looking for a small machine that doesn't take up a lot of space but gets the job done, then this might just be the machine for you!
